We closed two more questions regarding Middle East today.
One of the questions asked about parliamentary elections in Kuwait (below) and the other one about the cease-fire violation between the Islamic Jihad and Israel (on the left). Both questions closed as “No”. Their Brier Scores are: 0.044 for Kuwait and 0.040 for Israel.
The parliamentary elections in Kuwait were expected this year following the dissolution of the Parliament from December 2011 and the general elections from February 2012. The Parliament was reinstated in June by the constitutional court, but tensions between the Emir, the government and the opposition have persisted ever since, throwing the country into a parliamentary deadlock. To date, this deadlock has not been resolved.
On another hand, the cease-fire between the Islamic Jihad and Israel continues since March and there have not been reported any new developments in this respect.
